Greg Gumbel is an American sportscaster who is best known for his work on the NFL on CBS. He was born on May 3, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Gumbel began his broadcasting career in 1973 as a sports announcer for WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina. He went on to work for various television stations before joining CBS Sports in 1988.
